A vivid reminder of the future of these beautiful creatures if we cannot effect change.
A photo showing the mutual arrangement between oxpecker birds and rhinos: oxpeckers land on the backs of rhinos, zebras and various antelope in Africa, then eat ticks and other parasites that live on their skin. The oxpeckers get food and the beasts get pest control.
Rhinos rank among the most endangered species on Earth due to poaching for their horns. Their horn is used in Traditional Chinese medicine as well as carvings and prices are far higher than gold.
